So I live in a VERY SMALL town, by very small I mean one grocery store & over three hours to the nearest Walmart. You can feel bad for me now ;o) I love doing fun activities with my kids but living here I often have to get a little more creative or try to find really simple things.
Yesterday, when the kids were bored I decided I would try to make finger paint. I didn't have a lot of time so I found a simple recipe online here . I liked it because it only took flour, salt, water and food coloring, Can't get too much easier right?!?
The kids loved it and it didn't turn out too bad. I was worried when making it as it started to form like play dough but it stayed wet enough when I actually felt it. It was a little lumpy but got the job done! This is something I will definitely do again.
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 cups cold water
2 cups boiling water
Food Coloring
Instructions:
Mix the 2 cups of flour with the 2 teaspoons of salt. Add the 2 1/2 cups of cold water; stir until smooth. Gradually add this mixture to the 2 cups of boiling water. Boil until the mixture becomes smooth and thick. Add the food coloring until you get the desired color.
